News that Hollywood megastar Brad Pitt is working with Frank Gehry as an apprentice on the £300 million King Alfred Project has been reported today in The Independent newspaper and in the Architects Journal.

Brad and Frank Gehry share a passion for architecture and it is expected that Brad will visit Brighton and Hove either when the planning application is submitted in August or later when the application is considered by the Council.

Josh Arghiros, Karis Managing Director said: “The King Alfred Project has really captured Brad’s imagination and Frank has asked him to take on the design of one of the restaurants and one of the penthouse flats. Brad is looking for a place in Britain and it may well be that he’ll take one of the flats in Brighton.”

Frank Gehry was in Brighton and Hove today to unveil his emerging plans for the King Alfred site to City Councillors. Councillors had the opportunity to hear Frank describe his inspiration for the scheme and how he has considered the City’s history and architecture as he has developed his design.

Frank told Councillors: “I hope we’ve produced something which doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb, and we’re going to keep going until we get in right”
