Karis were not involved in the film, which was made independently by Absolute Brighton TV. The production company interviewed people in the vicinity of the King Alfred over a couple of hours on the same day asking their opinions on the redevelopment.

The film demonstrates strong support for the project amongst local people.

Black Lion Street in the heart of Brighton is undergoing a transformation thanks to Karis Developments. The major regeneration project, which includes the redesign and development of Moore House and the restoration of the adjoining building, will introduce new pedestrian priority measures designed to create a safe, attractive and welcoming environment in Black Lion Street.

Black Lion Street was once one of the most fashionable areas in Brighton but over decades the road has become a dismal, rundown and traffic congested rat-run. Karis Developments are now funding the redesign and transformation of the road from the Lanes Car Park to the Prince Albert Street junction.

The proposals, which have been welcomed by Brighton & Hove City Council, will create an attractive, safe and inviting environment for pedestrians whilst still allowing traffic access. High quality materials will be used to resurface the street and create wide pavements that will allow the new restaurants currently under construction at Moore House to have outside seating. Public artwork, lighting and planting will be used to further enhance the street scene and create a welcoming environment and bring life and activity into Black Lion Street.

Proposed Pedestrian Priority Measures
- Pedestrian priority from Lanes Car Park to junction with Prince Albert Street
- High quality road/paving materials building to building to create awareness of shared pedestrian/vehicular space
- Road width narrowed and pavements widened, introduction of a 25mm kerb to identify pavement edge to assist visually impaired
- Planting and new lighting to create an attractive, welcoming environment
- Introduction of CCTV linked into the Police camera network
- Residents parking bays to be relocated to southern end of Black Lion Street
- Loading times restricted to allow outside seating for restaurants
